This evening I was Autoconvocate Assembly (see the facebook group: "Those who want the primaries to Rome") by a group of militants PD Roman citizen to request that the Secretary is elected by the citizens, with the primaries. The statute provides for the national Democratic Party, but the plutocrats have managed to delay the promulgation of the Statute of regional elected in the absence of rules in their own way to the Regional Secretary (Morassut), and are now preparing to do the same with Secretary citizen of Rome.
Why is it important? (1) Why the Romans in many circles there is no democracy, then dies participation, then dies the Democratic Party. We need a Secretary citizen who works for participatory democracy, rather than stifle it. (2) The sense of futility and boredom that pervades those approaching the PD can only be overcome if it counts for something: why the primaries are important. The Assembly of
Autoconvocate was very serene. Every one spoke up to two to three minutes. Many organizations are involved. Giachetti was very polished, idem Daniele Mazzini (the "primary true, always primary), in all humility that is emerging as a credible leader (for now) local Roman PD. Finally, I was struck by the intervention of a citizen who said that we've been too kind to the leaders of the DC and DS, kindness which led to the end of those parties: we must not repeat the same mistake today with the PD.
