Owen & Leon Silvera - The Silveras (Treasure Isle 60's)

The brothers Owen & Leon Silvera were recorded exclusively by the record of Duke Reid (Treasure Isle), who despite not being as renowned as other Jamaicans, and perhaps it does not get more biographical information, are remembered for classics like "Next Door Neighbor" which is the most recognizable of many compilations of Jamaican Ska 60's. The song "Murder" recorded in 1962, is the original years later the British by The Selecter do a good cover for his style, like "The Fits Is On Me" written in the 64 'after several decades, the issue takes a revival to be versioned by International Beat, and also in the 90's by ex-Scofflaws The Blue Beats.Otro tune that was recovered today by mr. Chris Murray, is the excellent "Running Around"
post the photo was taken from a compilation of the Treasure Isle called "Knock Out Ska" which contains 20 songs labeled "Unreleased" and includes a theme Silvera Brothers "Hold Me Tenderly" by Elvis Presley was originally called "Love Me Tender." Another fact that can be read on the web is that apparently and subjectively, the duo became known as The Black Brothers and entering the stage Rocksteady Sound in the mid 60's. . . High thanks and credit to my friend Alexander Garcia (AKA NTN) for the initiative to make this post of which has not yet been released some exclusive compilation of this pair of brothers in Jamaica. . .
